I loath and detest magazine and website nudes that have been airbrushed and smoothed that the model no longer looks real but more like a plastic barbie doll.
I've tried to hilight the skin texture here which in this case is I feel, particularly lovely.

'SHE walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies,
And all that's best of dark and bright' -Lord Byron

This is amazing. The color one is lovely too, but this captures the truth of delicate beauty - the soft curves, the motions of light and body, the authenticity of feminine magnificence. And the rose is pretty too.

I do love a accomplished grey-scale photo. You can lie with color what you can't with black and white tones.

Aww wow, thanks muchly. :D

That's so true, the beauty of black and white is you can bring out the natural textures of the skin. In Caroline's case she has really beautiful skin that has almost a velvet sheen to it in the right light.
It's for this reason I have a problem with all these airbrushing pictures and making the model look plastic.

Agreed. I have issues with the need for the fantasy over ruling the reality of actualy natural beauty. These doctord images only enable all ready existing self-esteem problems. Instead of hidding a distinctive mark or curve, i am for leaving it be to become part of the individual's whole and COMPLETE physical attractiveness. But hteni am also of the mind that covering up an imperfection doesn't cover interior personal ugly.

Gorgeous idea.

Of course, if you can make pudge look beautiful I'll love you forever ;)

You are not pudge and trust me, super models and glam actresses do not have perfect bodies. It's all about lighting, shadow and enhancing the beauty that is there.

Horai, this is gorgeous; the monochrome really brings out all these tiny details. I especially love the soft wrinkles in the rose and her little freckles~

And yeah, I've never understood airbrushing the skin texture away; without it, people look like wax figures. Or, in worst case, dolls. [Ever seen the "touched up" pictures for those creepy toddler beauty pagents? Uncanny Valley to the MAX, I tell you...]

The trick it to have good glass on your camera and good lighting. Using a bronze tone is a great, you know it's right when you bring out the skin's natural glow/shine.

Oh man, those toddler pagents really freak me out. Sexualising small children should mean they are removed from their parents care, it's deeply sick and wrong. **yuch**

Oh man, I could really go off on a rant over it. They take a perfectly beautiful young woman like Jessica Alba for example and make them look really horrible. I just don't understand it.....rant over and thank you. :D
