This is exactly why I live where I do. For the first time I've captured an inkling of the High Peak area of Derbyshire landscape and hopfully some of it's beauty. This is a picture from the Goyt valley road looking over Long Hill which rises from the town of Whaley Bridge through to Buxton and is an incline most of the way.
I hope you like it as well.
Full view please.
On a slightly more amusing note, Fred, god rest his soul, was a local chap who used to do a bit of gardening round the area. He told me that when he was a young man in the thirties a mate of his made a soap box car and managed to make it all the way from Buxton to Whaley bridge without actually stopping. I have heard the story from others as well so it must be true.
The view up there always takes my breathe away. Even though we're not far away from the Peak
District, it's still such a change in how nature looks and behave. It's strange.
As for the soapbox car it wouldn't surprise me...lol...with those hills you must have been able to get
one heckova ride

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

It is a gorgeous spot though, especially on a warm sunny day or when the snows arrive.
