Some idle thoughts and some favourite pieces,

Some random thoughts on hot potatoes of the moment.  I'm not looking for a discussion but just to say hey, is this right.  Don't get too upset because this being an art site, it's not really the place to shout about stuff but put me right if you think I'm wrong. ;)

Politics:
I have come to the conclusion that Britain needs her own version of Mr and Mrs. Obama. Two of the most amazing people and quite possibly the best political leading family the world has seen for an awful long time.
Our politicians lack honour, political commitment, honesty, openness, charisma, stamina, personality, style, intelligence and any other traits that would make them in any way interesting or attractive.  I think it is time we had a none of the above clause on the voting system.  I'm pretty certain that would brighten some of the buggers up a little but hey, democracy is dead, long live democracy.

Religion:
Now don't get me wrong here, I am most definitely not a religious man in any way but I have respect for people who are and have a genuine belief but, it seems to me that religious leaders all over the world and of all different types are doing their very level best to ruin their respective faiths.  All the good good people on the ground trying to help others and put the world to rights are getting a rough time from the idiots in charge and that just isn't right plus it makes the guys above (Politicians) completely over react and causes all sorts of grief.
Maybe it's time for the meek to start inheriting what say you.

Music:
An art form very very dear to me and one that the various guys in charge of the business seem to be doing their level best to screw up.  Starting to see a pattern here?
Why does a place (small bar or pub etc.) have to have a performing licence to have local bands play,  If local bands don't play and can't play cover versions because of copyright then young people do not get to see music played at a local level and lose interest in music ergo, no sales.
I could go on about downloading and mp3's and pirate bay and the RIAA but you heard all that already.
Maybe it's time for a change.

Serious thoughts over and now some beautiful thoughts and some very pretty pieces that I think you should all see.  Not all of these are new and a couple of them are hauntingly beautiful.  :D

Speaking as one who thinks dA journal entries are an artform in themselves, I agree with you.
But have you ever noticed how much coal there is in this world compared to how many diamonds?
The trick is to make good use of both.
